Better Than Ever!

At No Slippy Hair Clippy, we always strive to be the best we can possibly be, to offer the highest quality of products for you and your girls to enjoy :) Here's our official press release on the enhanced quality of our clippys:

February 2010, Vacaville, CA: After a one-year wear-testing program, No Slippy Hair Clippy® is now delivering a no- slip clip that does not need a magnet for superior hold. Adding an “extra plush” luxurious velvet foundation produces an identical hold to the original magnet-enhanced clip, without impacting the patent pending design. The new clips are more streamlined and lighter weight, and hold the finest hair even better than ever, with the same no-slip guarantee. Available in stores now.

We are proud to say that No Slippy Hair Clips are the most functional hair clips in the market. Because we had you and your little girls in mind, not only are our designs adorable, but we made sure they are also of high quality and especially hand-crafted. Our products are also patent pending. In fact, we were the first in the class of non-slip hair accessories, even before big brands such as Scuncii and Goody! That shows that we had this idea prior to main stream brands (since 2000).

This time, we no longer use magnets in our hair clips. Now we have a higher grade of velvet that holds just as well, if not better, than magnets. This makes the hair clips sleeker and able to hold even the finest of hair beautifully.

We are excited for all of you to try out our hair clips, which are better than ever! Check out all our classic and latest styles at http://www.hairclippy.com.

If you love what you see, do join us in our Fan Page by clicking here. And let us know what you think of our products! We can't wait to meet you all there!

Click for a Clip!

There's something about Christmas.

You see it, you feel it, you even smell it. It wafts about you playfully in the air. You can't quite explain what it is but somehow you just know. The atmosphere seems a little cheerier, people seem a little warmer, and sometimes, even food tastes a little better! There's simply no other experience like it on any other day throughout the year.

I don't know about you, but Christmastime is my favorite time of the year. In my family, Christmas has always been one crazy production number of sorts! Come December, the household becomes abuzz with activity. We set up decorations, we plan for holiday reunions and get-togethers, we make tons of Christmas cards, we cook up a storm in the kitchen for holiday dinners and of course, we shop until we drop for Christmas gifts! It all sounds stressful, and believe me it is, but it's actually a lot of fun too.

This is also the time of year when we can celebrate some family Christmas traditions. Some friends have made it a habit to drink hot cocoa by the fireplace come Christmas Eve. Others gather 'round and share what they're thankful for. Others watch old Christmas movies. One of my closest friends always makes it a point to dress up her little angel for the holidays. I kid you not---no mother in her right mind would miss any opportunity to show her child off to everyone!

Last year, she dressed her baby up as a ballerina, perfectly pretty in pink in her tutu and matching hair accessories. Needless to say, all the neighbors missed no opportunity to fawn over her. Some even threw in compliments like "She takes after her mom..." which I'm sure my friend didn't mind at all! What made it even better was that her hair clip stayed on her hair the whole time. I remember times when my friend would spend the day just clipping and clipping and clipping her baby's hair accessories, as they would always slip since her hair is very fine.

This Christmas, my friend is dressing her baby up as a princess. But I just know for sure that getting her a tiara would be a nightmare. It will either keep falling off her head for being too loose, or hurt her head for being too tight. We ladies love to say "no pain, no gain," but certainly not when it comes to our babies! My solution for her is to get her a baby-friendly but equally "royal" hair clip instead.

For mommies who love to play dress-up too, there's plenty to choose from--different styles and colors, but all adorable. Plus, you don't have to deal with those uncooperative clips anymore, just make sure to choose non-slip hair accessories.

Dainty little hair clips make perfect baby gifts too. Now, I know, I know, it's just days before Christmas. But you don't have to go out there and drown in all the holiday rush. You can easily complete your gift list by doing your holiday shopping online. I myself have been doing it for years and have found it very helpful. No more walking around all day, no more dodging that lady who also wants to get that dress, those shoes, etc., no more wasting time and energy on those long lines! You can shop for a lot more, too, for a lot less time. So go get hair accessories and more for your baby, for your niece, for your friend's baby, for your neighbor's baby, for every sweet little girl that you love. I'm sure you'll complete your baby gift list in no time.

Worried that the gifts won't make it to you by Christmas? Don't worry. Brands like No Slippy Hair Clippy can ship hair clips in 24 hours, safely stored in beautiful gift boxes and just waitin' for you to give them away. So for a no-fuss, stress-free baby gift shopping experience, as my friend's little girl would say, "go clicky for clippy!"

Here's to hoping your holidays are as lovely as your little girls are!

A Hot Momma Loves Us!

We've been getting noticed quite a lot lately... And we are totally loving it! Recently, Natalie Klein of HotMomsClub.com wrote a lovely review for No Slippy Hair Clippy. She says:

"Honestly when I received my No Slippy Hair Clippy Large silk flower on wide organic headwrap my husband and I laughed and SAID!!! No way is she ever wearing that! So not our style! LOL Well I eat my words!! These are seriously so AMAZINGLY cute on and finally everyone stopped calling my daughter a BOY! AND she could not pull it off. Really you must check them out they have everything to make that little girl sparkle!!!"

Thank you so much! You are making this a very special Christmas for us!

Hair Ye, Hair Ye!

It has been said that the moment a child is born, a mother is also born. A woman may exist for many years, but she only becomes a mother once she gives birth to her child. And indeed, I'm sure a lot of new moms would love to tell their babies: "Oh come on, we're both new here!"

Being a new parent can be very overwhelming, to say the least. There is always one more new thing to learn, one more lullaby to hum, one more tantrum to hush, one more poop to scoop, one more hour of snooze to lose, and inevitably, one more "I told you so" from your own mother. But what you get in exchange is the privilege of experiencing what could be the greatest love you'll ever know.

It's easy to get distracted by the many needs of the newest member of your family. This is not as easy as getting a new kitchen appliance. Babies don't come with a manual, unfortunately. Even so, motherhood will not be the exciting journey that it is without the challenges along the way. To get at least one hurdle out of the way, here's a little 101 about taking care of baby hair.

Caring for baby hair is often overlooked. Admit it--you don't really think much about putting baby hair accessories on your child's three strands of hair. While your baby may have very little hair, it's very sensitive and must be cared for properly.

Be gentle. As infants generally have very little hair, there is no need to wash it everyday. Do it on an as-needed basis or every few days. Be very careful not to go obsessive-compulsive on your child. Applying pressure to the soft spot on your baby's head will endanger her.

Bye bye tears. A lot of babies and small children hate to have their hair washed. One reason could be that their shampoo has stung their eyes before and they are afraid that it might happen again. One solution is to make sure you buy a shampoo that is especially formulated for babies, made with mild ingredients that won't sting.

Hush little baby. When shampooing your baby's hair, gently recline her while holding her in the bath. But brace yourself because when in this position, babies experience a reflex and get frightened. Just make sure you hold your baby securely and put her at ease by speaking in a comforting tone.

So the baby hair is clean, but the mother's job does not end there. Of course, you have to style it! Especially if it's a baby daughter we're talking about, a mother can never be passionate enough to make her child look her best (and maybe show her off in the neighborhood afterwards).

But your baby's barely-there hairstyle isn't doing her any favors, as all she keeps getting are praises of how adorable HE is and how HE takes after HIS father. Sacrilege! Even when she is decked out in pink, some people can be so darn clueless. A neon sign saying "SHE'S A GIRL!" might be out of your budget. A cheaper solution: baby hair accessories.

Here clippy, clippy. Aside from the usual baby items, a lot of boutiques now offer hair accessories specifically designed for babies' wispy, delicate hair. Look for brands whose accessories stay in place even with just a few strands of hair. No Slippy Hair Clippy, for example, has baby hair clips that are wrapped in Swiss velvet, so they are soft against your baby's head. A safe small magnet underneath the clips ensures a non-slip clasp that doesn't tug at her hair. This spares you from having to clip and re-clip and re-clip those little things.

Holiday Partying Without Adding the Pounds

Let's face it, ladies. Sometimes it's hard to ignore that perfectly roasted turkey beckoning us to get just a little more. It lies golden on the dining table, the sheen coming from the buttery fats glazed over it. Even from afar, you can almost hear its crisp skin breaking, to reveal the moist tender meat underneath. Ahhh... the holidays.

But then 20 pounds later, you find that giving in to the turkey (or steak or pasta or...) was not a very nice thing to do. Of course, I'm not saying that you should starve yourself these holidays. Go ahead and celebrate! But remember to pace yourself and take everything in moderation.

For all the celebration dinners you will be having, here are a few helpful and DOABLE tips from E-zine Articles:

1. Eat your food mindfully. If you slow down your pace and become more conscious of the food, you will naturally eat less and make better food choices without anyone catching on. Here is the trick, chew every bite of food thoroughly and then swallow EVERY morsel in your mouth before taking the next bite.

2. Divide your plate. To be sure you are getting the right foods in the right amount at a dinner party, divide your plate. Fill the top half with vegetables or salad and the bottom half with one serving of protein and one serving of carbohydrate. You get a complete and healthy meal without counting calories.

3. Drink water. Carry around a glass of water (even add a splash of lemon or fruit) like it is attached to your hand. This will allow you to do something other than reach for a snack and it is social.

4. Don't go too hungry. You are not doing yourself or your body any favors by starving before a party. Your body will store more of what you eat at the party as fat if you starve ahead of time because you throw off your natural balance. Eat light but often before the party.

5. Use a stopper. This is a great trick. It is simply having something ready to do that is not compatible with snacking. A quick and easily available stopper is a minty piece of gum or breath mint.

Click here to read the article.

See? That doesn't seem so hard! More importantly, you still get to enjoy the food (come on, who goes to a party without the intention of eating?).

I do have an additional tip and I think it's so fabulous: dress up your little darling with super adorable baby hair accessories and you'll be too busy with all the guests' attention that it would be impossible to overeat! These make great baby gifts, too.

Happy, lovely holidays!

Moms Love Clippies!

We have another lovely review and this time it's from MomViews.net. It's a site that is dedicated to smart parenting and smart shopping and features news and reviews on the latest items in the market for your family, including some really neat baby gear and baby items.

This was actually written months ago, but I just had to share it with you! The review goes:

"My daughter may be decked out in all pink and yet she still gets referred to as a boy. "Oh, HE'S so cute" and I of course cannot help but to correct it. "No, she's a girl" followed by " yeah, I know it's so hard to tell when they are infants" just to lessen the embarrassment they may feel. So after a couple of those comments, I decided to look for some hair clips for my newborn.

But first - there are lots to consider when buying an infant some hair accessories. Of course they'd
have to look cute - that's a given. But I needed hair clips that will hold on my daughter's baby thin locks. And most importantly, the clips has to be safe for my baby's delicate head. And after googling for many different online boutiques, I discovered No Slippy Hair Clippy! Not only do they have the cutest selections, but they meet all the criteria in what I'm looking for."

Thank you so much! We appreciate the lovely review! You can read the rest here.

Lovely Holidays!

When I think of Christmas, I think of all things festive and joyous. There is simply no reason not to celebrate! With the holiday celebrations coming up, I'm sure your darling daughters (or little nieces or little sisters) will be in a cheery mood themselves, as it also means that they will be dressing up!

While there will always be charming new dresses in stores by Christmas, I know it's always been challenging to find the perfect hair accessories to match them. I know a lot of moms whose daughters have super fine hair and they always complain about how they can spend the whole day just clipping and re-clipping baby bows. What's worse, sometimes these hair accessories even tug at the hair and hurt the girls.

Ladies, fret not. I have cute little baby bows and hair clips that answer just that: No Slippy Hair Clippy! And here are our lovely Clips of the Month:

Valerie (3" Layered Two Toned Fashion Double Bow, available in 4 colors)

Courtney Velvet Baby Bow (available in 7 colors)

So even as your little one sings and dances to Christmas carols, you are sure she will remain the prettiest little head at the ball. Of course, you can go ahead and prettify yourself, too, with our Mommy and Me designs. Or, as a baby gift suggestion, give these adorable baby items away!

NSHC reviewed by "Coffee with the Mrs."

Coffee with the Mrs. is a blog written by a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom) named Amy. She is the mother of an adorable toddler, a little boy named Alex and is pregnant with a little girl who is due in November. Her blog is a place to "chat over coffee". She writes about her life and amusing anecdotes but the main focus of her blog is given to reviews that she writes relating to all things baby. She has reviewed children's movies, children's clothing, glasses, etc... She has recently taken the time to review a few NSHC products and has posted her review here on her web page: http://www.coffeewiththemrs.com/

Here is some of the lovely things she had to say:

I have had so much fun finding adorable things for my little girl to wear after she’s born but remembered how much trouble friends were having keeping clips in their daughters’ hair. I wanted to find something cute for my daughter’s very first pictures but decided that maybe I would have to be creative or settle for something that may not stay in her hair.

Thank goodness I found the No Slippy Hair Clippy. These hair clips are pure genius and are sure to stay in anyone’s hair. Also, they’re handcrafted and each one shows the attention to detail it received.

I looked through the baby headbands to use with my baby girl’s birth announcement picture and chose this one.

DSCN0344This is the 2” Flower with Sequins on an Organdy band and sells for $9.00. It’s made for babies 0-6 months old so we’ll get plenty of use out of it. I love how delicate and sweet it looks.

Thank you Amy! Good luck with your new little girl!

Help bring Lily home and enter to win FABULOUS prizes!

Who doesn't love giveaways? I will tell you who, no one! Absolutely everyone loves free goodies and what better way to win amazing prizes than to donate to a good cause? Well in all honesty the prizes are not free, but they can be yours for as little as $5.00! What is this amazing cause you ask? Well you will be helping to raise money for a deserving family to adopt a little girl from South Korea. This family has dealt with their share of trials and tribulations. They have survived through 6 miscarriages and 2 failed adoption attempts. Adrienne, the mother, writes a blog called Preparing for a Miracle. In her blog she details her life's struggles as well as miracles.

As you know, this past year we lost 2 more babies to miscarriages and now have had 2 failed domestic adoptions. It's hard to believe we've gone through 8 losses since we first started trying to have a baby. Since November, we've felt God tugging us toward adopting a "waiting child.....

Last week, we received the test results from the tests our doctor had requested, and they were normal. We had the answer we had been waiting for. We believe God held baby Soojung for us until now so that we could adopt her as our Lily. She just might be named Lily Soo. :)

So, this week while we were at the beach with Jim's family, I called the adoption agency and spoke with Ms. P, and we have begun the process to adopt our baby girl from South Korea!!

In order to bring Lily Soo home, Adrienne must raise 25,000 dollars! And you can help out by purchasing $5.00 raffle tickets towards donated prizes. She is giving away some really nifty stuff, items ranging from a Canon Rebel XS 10.1 MP Digital XLR Camera to a $25.00 gift certificate for one of a kind No Slippy Hair Clippies! :) Yes, we have donated to this important cause, how could we not? What a beautiful thing to love an orphaned child as your own... it is probably the most gracious gift that a person can give.

So, here's how it works...

*If you would like a chance to win one of the incredible items below, make a $5 donation by clicking on the Bring Lily Home ChipIn (top left of blog under header). Each chance to win is just $5 so you are welcome to try to win more than one item!

*Then, leave me a comment on this blog by clicking on Comments under the item that you are interested in, and then type your comment in the comment box and save it, telling me which item you would like a chance to win. You can also leave me a comment on the ChipIn site and I will put your comment on the blog for the random drawing.

A Generous Review for No Slippy

I reviewed a beautiful little online store called Brea's Baby Boutique a bit earlier this month. The owner is a wonderful mother of two girls and does a really wonderful job with her business as well. I just love the tutu's and petti skirts that she sells, they are extremely charming and a bunch of fun! Anyway, she has just recently wrote a post on her blog about No Slippy Hair Clippy and it is really terrific. She uses our products on her own two daughters, a toddler and a new born, and she has nothing but good things to say. Here is an excerpt:

The No Slippy Hair Clippy does it all! We weren't kidding when we said the name says it all. They actually dont slip! I have been honored to try these AMAZING hairclips for my 2 year old daughter. I dont know about you, but everyday is a constant battle of putting my daughters hair clip back in because it is always sliding out. I might add that my 2 year old loves them. She is always playing in her hairbow basket and the first thing she pulls out our the No Slippy Hair Clippies. Smart Girl, huh? She knows just as well as I that they are designed with your kids comfort in mind.

I am so proud to announce that their baby bows do not leave dents in your sweet baby's head. I can't tell you how my headbands I have for my 3 month old daughter and when you take them off there will be a little dent there. My hubby cringes when this happens! He things I am completely cruel for putting them on our baby girls head! Well, when I showed him her new bows that stay in place and don't leave little marks, he was thrilled!!

Thanks Brea! We are truly humbled by your kind words and promise we will continue striving to create the very best in hair accessories! :)

Birthday Bonanzas

In just two weeks my little niece will turn the big -1- year old. I simply cannot believe how fast time has flown. I remember when she had just been born, she was infinitesimally small. I could fit 10 of her little hands in mine. She was fresh and snuggly and held all the promise that new life affords. And now one year later she is all the more beautiful! She is deserving of the most spectacular of birthday celebrations, alas I will not be in close enough proximity to help facilitate this. So, in honor of my precious little niece, I have written a list of 5 must haves for any one year old birthday bonanza:

1. Buckets of love, you know the good stuff, wet and sloppy!

2. A special birthday outfit: http://breasbabyboutique.com/category_40/Birthday-Outfits.htm

3. A special birthday clippy: http://hairclippy.com/shop_novelty-amber.asp

4. Cupcakes! So much easier than a whole cake and a lot cuter if you ask me. Here is one of my favorite recipes: http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/polka-dot-cupcakes?lnc=98d20356c0041210VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&backto=true&backtourl=/our-best-cupcakes?lnc=98d20356c0041210VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&rsc=slideshow_food_our-best-cupcakes&contentid=85cb0000342f0210VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD#slide_1

5. Decorations! The cheesier the better! They will be small enough for silliness for only so long you know.. : http://www.1stbirthdayparty.com/

Happy Birthday to all those little sweet peas turning one this month!

July brings new clippies and patriotic festivities!

Welcome to July folks! This month brings the birth of our independent nation, stunning fireworks displays, yummy barbeque's and a whole lot of time outdoors. While enjoying all that blessed fresh air, there are two things you should try and remember:

1. Do not forget to slather on the sunscreen (liberally)
2. Accesorize with NSHC patriotic bows!

These clips are just too perfect for Independence Day and I recommend them for any little girls 4th of July weekend outfits.

Also for July, our new clip is featured! The Danielyn - Cross Knot Dot Baby Bows. I absolutely love this one, just the right amount of dainty! The Danielyn comes in four rich colors, Shocking Pink (as shown below) Citron, Pink and Lavender.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY AMERICANS! Enjoy the day's festivities and perhaps take a moment to be grateful for the wonderful country that we live in. :)

June 2009 NSHC Press

In this month's issue of Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine, No Slippy's Leah Frayed Flower Clip is featured. It is a wonderfully sunny clip that is perfect for spring and summer and easily warms up any babies outfit.

In the June 2009 addition of Earnshaw's Magazine, No Slippy's Shocking Pink Birthday Cake Princess Bow is featured in a "Life of the Party" segment that showcases birthday party apparel and accessories for children. Our clip is a festive way to adorn your little angel with birthday flair. In my opinion it makes paper birthday hats a gaudy wasteful thing of the past. Birthday barrettes are the future for children's birthday celebrations!
