Cuteness Overload

Last week, we wrote about a lovely review of No Slippy Hair Clippy from mom-and-dad bloggers Chad and Gena of Our Journey Through Parenthood. In their review, the doting parents wrote about little Taryn wearing her new No Slippy Hair Clippys.

We finally got Chad and Gena's permission to share with you photos of dear Taryn! If you'd like to see the entry itself, you may visit their blog here!

In the meantime, consider this your Wednesday dose of cuteness:

A Grand Clippy Giveaway

We are happy to report that No Slippy Hair Clippy is on the blog-o-sphere once again! Our signature non-slip hair clips have been reviewed by Grand Giveaways, a blog by mommy blogger Mary who loves to share her thoughts about the products she recently tried. As the blog's name implies, she loves hosting giveaways too! Expect an exciting clippy giveaway pretty soon; so make sure you are tuned in to her blog here!

Here's an excerpt of what she thinks of No Slippy Hair Clippy:

"When my daughter was born, she actually had hair long enough to braid. I have to admit…we’re a hairy bunch! Now that she’s crawling and cruising, her long hair can fall into her eyes. That’s why I love the No Slippy Hair Clippy. These hair accessories are perfect for baby-fine hair, because they stay in place and are so soft your baby won’t even notice she’s wearing one."

Thank you, Mary!

Too Cute for Words!

That was how Lunch Box Magazine so graciously described No Slippy Hair Clippy in a recent review that they did about us!

They tried on our clippys and headbands on darling Codie Raye, a four-month-old baby girl who has almost no hair! And here's what they had to say:

"Now Codie Raye has almost no hair to speak of… but darned if that little hair clip didn’t just stay right in place on the few hairs she has. And it was comfortable due to the base being lined with velvet. The headband looked darling on her and it wasn’t scratchy or uncomfortable. These uniquely designed hair clips have a magnet in them so they easily stay in place. The No Slippy Hair Clippy store online has every imaginable design and color you could ever want. Go to their website and see for yourself www.hairclippy.com"

You can check here to see the review, plus an adorable photo of Codie Raye ;)

Thank you so much!!!

A Princess Loves our Clippys!

We absolutely love getting reviews! They inspire us to keep getting better! We totally adore this one that we recently received from Annie of Annie's Home. Here's what this lovely mommy and (grandmommy!) has to say about No Slippy Hair Clippy:

"Princess is my only grandchild and I may be a bit partial but I think she looks like a little doll. I love to dress her up, buy dress clothes for her and just think she is a little doll. One of my favorite places to find hair clips and headbands for her is No Slippy Hair Clippy. There are many reasons that I love to shop there but one of the main reason is because of their selection.

...When my girls were young we would place clips in their hair only to watch them slide out as quick as we put them in. Their hair was so fine that it did not matter much what we tried for there was no clips that could stay in our daughters hair. Now my granddaughter does not need to go through this same game. With No Slippy Hair Clippy the clips will stay in hair without a problem allowing her, my daughter and my self to rest easy. Not only does the velvet feel soft but it helps to protect lil hands from pinches in my opinion."

Thank you so much Annie! We are glad that you and little Princess love our clippys :)

The rest of Annie's review (plus an adorable photo of her granddaughter) are here.

Mad About Clippy

This new year is really turning out extremely well! We've been a bunch of busy bees with so many orders, have been up-and-about to prepare for the Boom Boom Room 2010 in LA, plus we've also been getting one fabulous review after the other! Like this new one from dear mommy blogger Margaret of Creative Madness. She says:

"What I love about the Hair Clippy collections is that there are so many to choose from! There are cute every outfit clips and formal clips and seasonal clips. There are bows and flowers as well as novelties and others. I love our NSHCs and cannot wait to add more. Right now I am vying for a red clip, I just need to decide what I want. With all the styles and colors, it is near impossible to not find a clip that would be perfect for any occasion.

These clips really are fabulous. I do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and have many times. They are very well made and never come out on their own (little fingers work them out or rolling about can too). I am very happy with them and cannot wait to get more. I am a little frightened though, adding to this collection may become very addicting."

And here is a photo of her lovely, lovely daughter!

You can read the rest of her review (and see more adorable baby photos) here. Her blog is really lovely and her articles are very interesting! Bookworm moms would especially love her recommended reads :)

Thank you so much, Margaret! Your kind words inspire us to get better and better and better! Thanks, too, for lending us these wonderful images!

All Yours and Only Yours

We have no words to describe how much we love getting feedback about our hair accessories. So you can imagine how excited and thrilled we always get whenever we get new reviews!

Recently we got a lovely one from lovely mom Christine of theiemommy.com. She tried out No Slippy Hair Clippy's Salena Monogrammed Fabric Button Hair Clips on her equally lovely twin girls. Here's an excerpt of what she thought of the clips:

"...we just finished Christmas and I can not tell you the number of gifts the twins were told that they needed to “share”. Now, I am all for sharing and teaching children to be kind and gracious… but when you are a twin… especially an identical twin…sometimes you need things that are just your own.

I believe that is why we fell in love with the Personalized Clips from No Slippy Hair Clippy. We received a very pretty brown and pink clip for Skylar personalized with “S” and a pink and green for Rylan personalized with “R”. My girls were thrilled! “This one is mine” they each proclaimed as they put them in their hair.

I have noticed that they wear them a lot... even when they don’t match their outfits. Why? Well, when they are asked “Which one are you?” as they are asked on a daily basis… they just point to their barrette."

The rest of her lovely story can be found here.

And here are the Salena Monogrammed Fabric Button Hair Clips, available in two adorable colors:

Shocking Pink

Lime

Check out the personalized headbands too :)

Thank you so much, Christine! We're glad that you and the girls loved the clips! Now Skylar and Rylan have something that is truly their own.

One Fantastic Review

How lovely 2010 is turning out to be for No Slippy Hair Clippy! We got wonderful new review from Nina Say of theonefantastical.com, a lovely young mom who recently tried out our hair bows. Here's an excerpt of her review:

"My daughter wore her bows all day while we were out, she wore them through three Christmas parties and she did not even mind that they were on her head. Usually my baby pulls everything off her head, my guess is because they are uncomfortable. That means, according to my daughter these baby bows and clips are almost unnoticeable while wearing them, that means A+++ for the creators and the company."

Read the rest of her super fun review here. Browse around her blog, too, if you like. She has a wide range of interesting topics.

Thank you so much for your review, Nina! And how amusing it is indeed that one of our bows is named like your beautiful Zoey!

Simply Sensational Reviews

The gifts just keep on coming :) We got not just one, but TWO great reviews! This time, it's from the lovely ladies at sensationaldivasreview.com, who recently tried out our headbands on their little ones. Here's an excerpt of what they had to say:

"I loved these headbands. They stayed put on my busy toddlers' heads. The first time they wore them, we went to church. Afterwards, the headbands were still in place. When my girls were babies, I never used headbands. I didn't like the elastic tight feeling that most baby styles have. These were soft, not tight fitting and I would have loved to had these for my girls hair. If you're looking for that special occasional headband or a few for everyday use, then check out the site. The prices are a little more than what I generally would pay for a headband, but you are paying for quality. These will last you and you will not be disappointed. There are many of their products that I can put on my wish list." --Kim

You can read the rest of her review here.

"These headbands live up to their No Slippy name and claim, for the most part. CJ's hair is a bit finer than K's and the headband does have to be repositioned more often but the clippies stay put no matter who's head they are on. R has a hard time pulling the clips out; they are so soft that she doesn't even seem to notice them in her hair. I plan to purchase more of this product in the future and CJ has already circled her requests in the flyer we received in our package." --LM Harris

Check out the rest of her review here. These moms have a pretty cool site!

Thanks so much, ladies! :) We are thrilled that you and your girls loved our headbands!

A Hot Momma Loves Us!

We've been getting noticed quite a lot lately... And we are totally loving it! Recently, Natalie Klein of HotMomsClub.com wrote a lovely review for No Slippy Hair Clippy. She says:

"Honestly when I received my No Slippy Hair Clippy Large silk flower on wide organic headwrap my husband and I laughed and SAID!!! No way is she ever wearing that! So not our style! LOL Well I eat my words!! These are seriously so AMAZINGLY cute on and finally everyone stopped calling my daughter a BOY! AND she could not pull it off. Really you must check them out they have everything to make that little girl sparkle!!!"

Thank you so much! You are making this a very special Christmas for us!

Moms Love Clippies!

We have another lovely review and this time it's from MomViews.net. It's a site that is dedicated to smart parenting and smart shopping and features news and reviews on the latest items in the market for your family, including some really neat baby gear and baby items.

This was actually written months ago, but I just had to share it with you! The review goes:

"My daughter may be decked out in all pink and yet she still gets referred to as a boy. "Oh, HE'S so cute" and I of course cannot help but to correct it. "No, she's a girl" followed by " yeah, I know it's so hard to tell when they are infants" just to lessen the embarrassment they may feel. So after a couple of those comments, I decided to look for some hair clips for my newborn.

But first - there are lots to consider when buying an infant some hair accessories. Of course they'd
have to look cute - that's a given. But I needed hair clips that will hold on my daughter's baby thin locks. And most importantly, the clips has to be safe for my baby's delicate head. And after googling for many different online boutiques, I discovered No Slippy Hair Clippy! Not only do they have the cutest selections, but they meet all the criteria in what I'm looking for."

Thank you so much! We appreciate the lovely review! You can read the rest here.

An Early Christmas Gift

You can always tell when Christmas is around the corner. Somehow the atmosphere turns cheery and everyone seems to have a joyful air about them. While it's still 40+ days away, I seem to be getting gifts early this year.

I recently read a wonderful review from lovely mom Christine, of The IE Mommy, who wrote about how much she and her twin girls adore No Slippy Hair Clippy Headbands!

Here's an excerpt of what she had to say:

"We have three Christmas events to attend with family this year, two Christmas parties, one holiday celebration, caroling and a gift wrapping demo…I think No Slippy Hair Clippy Headbands are going to make getting my girls dressed and ready to go…just a bit easier this year!"

You can read the rest of her review here.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Christine. It thrills me to know that our accessories will prettify your girls this Christmas. Here's to a lovely holiday season!

The Ruffleblog gives NSHC two thumbs up!

The owner and founder of RuffleButts is Amber Schaub, a mother of one precious little girl named Aubrey and a busy entrepreneur. Her products are incredibly adorable and made from 100% cotton. Amber recently tried out some of our baby bows and here is what she had to say:

I met Annie Salyer from No Slippy Hair Clippy a few years ago out in LA. She was super sweet and really made a lasting impression on me. Her brand seemed really creative and I always heard others raving about her products. Well, that was pre my little cutie patootie, and now I have a whole new appreciation for Annie's creations!

Aubrey's hair is super fine, much like mine. She is not lacking for hair, just enough to hold in any kind of hair accessory. Of course I dress her pretty darn girly, but that still doesn't stop those random strangers from asking what "his" name is? What does a mom have to do??

So, No Slippy Hair Clippy to the rescue! After browsing through the TONS of styles available on their website (http://www.noslippy.com/), Aubrey's three adorable clips showed up in the mail this week. Seriously, she has not gone a day since without her Clippy! We have had them for less than a week, and I have had no less than three people ask where we got such cute hair accessories.

We have only taken pictures in two of them, but I'll be sure to post another picture soon of the cute little ribbon thing they are clipped to hanging in her room. And the best part is, since they are hanging and organized, they don't get lost!! Annie, you are one smart lady =)

And, by the way...the picture below is Aubrey entertaining herself in the office recycling while I got out a few late night emails!

Keep the great reviews coming!

Mommies With Cents is a blog that gives Moms like you great information about wonderful new children products that won't break the bank. Here is a little snippet about them from their website:

Mommies with Cents was created by two mommies that love to bargain shop and save money. The two met in San Antonio, TX in 2007. They were both new to the area- brought there by their husband's jobs. Their little ones brought them together and they hit it off as friends and decided to start this blog. Shortly after, they both found out that they were pregnant and both of them moved from Texas. Holly moved back to her home town in Washington state and Mindy to Indiana. They run this blog together while caring for their newborns and chasing after their toddlers! They each bring something different to this blog and couldn't do it without each other. They think they make a great team!

Here is their review for Pediped shoes and No Slippy Hair Clippies:

One of my absolute FAVORITE shoes for my children are pedipeds. Not only has pediped created a new Fall/Winter '09 collection, they have also partnered with No Slippy Hair Clippy. The hair clips are coordinated with signature pediped syle shoes! Love it!

The Fall/Winter '09 collection shoes retail for $32 for Originals and between $44 - $59 for Flex. The No Slippy Hair Clippy retail for $8. One of my favorite collections is, "The Couture Collection." Jules Gold is my FAVORITE! A girl can't have too many shoes and hair clips, right?

I received the Isabella Red Patent shoes and the No Slippy Hair Clippy to match (pictured left). They are SO adorable. My daughter thinks she is hot stuff in them! I am excited to find a dress for Christmas too that she can put them with.

pediped footwear was founded in February 2005 by husband and wife team, Angela and Brian Edgeworth, following their search for the perfect soft-soled shoe for their baby daughter, Caroline. Having heard of the benefits of soft-soles, they wanted to create a comfortable shoe that was easy to put on, yet stylish. More importantly, it had to be made of the softest of leather but provide enough protection so they could be worn both indoors and outdoors. pediped combines everything they were looking for and more. Since its launch, pediped is now one of the fastest-growing infant footwear companies in the U.S.

No Slippy Hair Clippy’s® premier line of hair clips has expanded, thanks to the new, unique styles created exclusively for pediped™. Widely regarded as the most innovative company in the children’s hair accessory marketplace, No Slippy Hair Clippy won an Earnie award in 2008 for design excellence in children’s fashion. President/CEO Annie Salyer takes on new challenges eagerly, and No Slippy Hair Clippy’s joint venture with pediped™ was no exception. “We loved the idea right from the start!” she exclaims, “Coordinating accessories from head to toe – who could resist?”

You can purchase pediped footwear on their site and No Slippy Hair Clippy from the pediped site/retailers or their own site here. They truly are the next best thing to bare feet. They are so comfortable to my daughter and she begs to wear them. I have to hide them from her so that she doesn't have a fit when she can't wear them! The clips are magnificent and you will not be disappointed. Every girl needs to match!

Top Five Favorite Family Movies of 2009

2009 has been an extremely successful year for the movies. When most other businesses have been hurting due to the "recession", the box office has been making MORE money this year. In fact, sales are up 20% from 2008, and 25% from 2005. 2009 has been breaking ticket sales records every single month so far. It isn't too hard to imagine why. With the economy doing so poorly, more and more people are looking for cheap sources of entertainment for themselves and their family. What better way to do that then by going to the movies? $7.00-$10.00 will get you 2 hours of blissful, uninterrupted, air conditioned fun!

I have been thoroughly impressed with quite a few movies this year. There has been a plethora of funny, stimulating and family oriented pictures to pick from. For example; Transformers, Up, Ice Age, Harry Potter, the list is endless. So I thought it might be a good idea to share my top five list of family films of 2009. Here they are in no particular order:

1. PONYO

Ponyo is an animated adventure about a 5 year old boy and a goldfish princess. This goldfish, who is the daughter of the king of the ocean and has magic at her fingertips, befriends a little boy who spends time around the sea. A deep bond develops between them and the goldfish princess begins to long to be a human. The movie is extremely sweet and really allows the person watching to delve into the fantasy of it all.

2. UP

Up is a Disney Pixar film that will captivate any aged audience member. A 78 year old man, Carl Fredricksen finally gets to realize a long time dream of his to see the world. He attaches thousands of balloons to his home and flies away to South America. Carl realizes all too soon that he has a stow away. An 8 year old boy named Russel who has bothered him on more than one occasion. A hilarious bit of humor ensues and I was thoroughly enthralled by the 3D graphics and wonderful story telling.

3. CORALINE

Coraline is a stop motion animated picture about broken dreams and the quest to repair them once again. A little girl named Coraline moves into a new home with her parents. The home is dilapidated and in desperate need of repair. Coraline who is endlessly curious and very bored, goes on a mission to get to know her new home. In the process she finds a hidden door that leads her to another world. In this world she is confronted by a second set of parents who have evil intentions. She is now forced to defeat her wicked "other mother". It is incredibly visually stimulating and the story is enrapturing.

4. EARTH

Earth is a stunning tale of real world animals and their quest of survival. Earth is partially constructed from the Discovery Channel television series PLANET EARTH. This brilliant picture was made possible because of 250 days of aerial footage, shot from planes, helicopters, and air balloons. You get to follow the lives of 3 families of whales, elephants and polar bears. I loved how educating the film was and how emotionally attached I become to all the animals.

5. HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE

The sixth installment of the popular Harry Potter books did not disappoint, as I expected. In the interest of not spoiling anything for people who may have not seen this yet I will only say a few things.
Voldemort is beginning to threaten the safety and well being of the Muggle and the students of Hogwarts are finding themselves more vulnerable than ever before. Harry is realizing that even within the castle walls there is danger afoot. He seeks Dumbledores guidance but finds no help because Dumbledore is preoccupied with preparing Harry for his final battle. This film is, like all other Harry Potter movies, incredibly moving and quite simply a fabulous story from beginning to end. My time in the theater flew by and I was sad to leave. I cannot wait for The Deathly Hallows!

What are some of your favorite family movies of 2009? Or any year for that matter. I would love to hear them!

NSHC reviewed by "Coffee with the Mrs."

Coffee with the Mrs. is a blog written by a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom) named Amy. She is the mother of an adorable toddler, a little boy named Alex and is pregnant with a little girl who is due in November. Her blog is a place to "chat over coffee". She writes about her life and amusing anecdotes but the main focus of her blog is given to reviews that she writes relating to all things baby. She has reviewed children's movies, children's clothing, glasses, etc... She has recently taken the time to review a few NSHC products and has posted her review here on her web page: http://www.coffeewiththemrs.com/

Here is some of the lovely things she had to say:

I have had so much fun finding adorable things for my little girl to wear after she’s born but remembered how much trouble friends were having keeping clips in their daughters’ hair. I wanted to find something cute for my daughter’s very first pictures but decided that maybe I would have to be creative or settle for something that may not stay in her hair.

Thank goodness I found the No Slippy Hair Clippy. These hair clips are pure genius and are sure to stay in anyone’s hair. Also, they’re handcrafted and each one shows the attention to detail it received.

I looked through the baby headbands to use with my baby girl’s birth announcement picture and chose this one.

DSCN0344This is the 2” Flower with Sequins on an Organdy band and sells for $9.00. It’s made for babies 0-6 months old so we’ll get plenty of use out of it. I love how delicate and sweet it looks.

Thank you Amy! Good luck with your new little girl!

Another glowing review for No Slippy.

A fantastic little blog called "Shop With me Mama" wrote a really sweet review of our clips and headbands recently. The woman behind Shop With me Mama is Kim, a stay at home Mom with two small children. As she says on her blog:

Yep, I'm honest :)

*NOTE: On ALL of my product reviews, I am honest and give my honest opinions on the product/s I am sent to review. If there is something about the product that I dislike, I will tell the company first, and if they still want me to review their product for them, I will post it, if not, I will not do a review on the product upon the companys request. So, if all you see on my website and blog is POSITIVE reviews, that is why*

So it really is wonderful to hear that she is so impressed with our products. Here is a snippet of what she had to say:

I noticed right away the difference these barrettes had between the ones on the market. The No Slippy Hair Clippies are just that, not slippery and don't slide out of hair unless you make them. What makes them so different? Well, they fully wrap each hair clip in the highest-quality Swiss Velvet, so it's always soft against your baby girls head, it will never tug on her fine hair, and they tuck a small, safe magnet under the velvet to create a secure, guaranteed non-slip clasp. How neat is that? I can tell just by the feel of these clips that they are indeed comfortable. My daughter is not one to keep things in her hair for very long, what 19 month old does? But, it did last a little longer with these cute barrettes. Still, when she was done, she was done, LOL! But in her fine hair, these did stay put and looked fabulous!

I recommend these to any Mom struggling with their little girls fine hair, trying to find barrettes that stay put! I next tried the adorable head bands. Super cute on and off. I am not sure if I noticed a real difference between the headbands and the headbands that are on the market now, but I did notice they are a lot cuter than most!

Here is a few photos of her adorable little girl wearing No Slippy:

Below, Presley is wearing our Audrey Baby Bow in Pink.

A Generous Review for No Slippy

I reviewed a beautiful little online store called Brea's Baby Boutique a bit earlier this month. The owner is a wonderful mother of two girls and does a really wonderful job with her business as well. I just love the tutu's and petti skirts that she sells, they are extremely charming and a bunch of fun! Anyway, she has just recently wrote a post on her blog about No Slippy Hair Clippy and it is really terrific. She uses our products on her own two daughters, a toddler and a new born, and she has nothing but good things to say. Here is an excerpt:

The No Slippy Hair Clippy does it all! We weren't kidding when we said the name says it all. They actually dont slip! I have been honored to try these AMAZING hairclips for my 2 year old daughter. I dont know about you, but everyday is a constant battle of putting my daughters hair clip back in because it is always sliding out. I might add that my 2 year old loves them. She is always playing in her hairbow basket and the first thing she pulls out our the No Slippy Hair Clippies. Smart Girl, huh? She knows just as well as I that they are designed with your kids comfort in mind.

I am so proud to announce that their baby bows do not leave dents in your sweet baby's head. I can't tell you how my headbands I have for my 3 month old daughter and when you take them off there will be a little dent there. My hubby cringes when this happens! He things I am completely cruel for putting them on our baby girls head! Well, when I showed him her new bows that stay in place and don't leave little marks, he was thrilled!!

Read the entire review here:

Thanks Brea! We are truly humbled by your kind words and promise we will continue striving to create the very best in hair accessories! :)

Brea's Beauty-full Baby Boutique!

I have had the recent pleasure of coming across a special little store. Upon entering their website you are instantly aware that you are about to venture where only the cutest, sweetest baby things are.. pictures of little angels in leopard leotards and flapper style hats let you know that you are in for a unique experience. This is not your average Baby Boutique. In fact this is Brea's Baby Boutique, and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

They carry so many wonderful things that it is honestly hard for me to pick my favorites, but painstakingly I managed, and I will share a few of them here with you:

Their Birthday Rainbow Tutu in Sparkles is an absolutely adorable way to make your little girl feel like a princess on her birthday. Brea's has many tutus and pettiskirts to choose from, all wonderfully crafted and all with their own distinct style.

Another favorite of mine would have to be their baby shoes. ALL OF THEM! They carry cute little fuzzy booties, trendy leather sandals, cowboy boots and patent leather shoes. My favorite for girls are the Wee Squeak Hot Pink Patent Sandals.

These fun little shoes help crawlers walk and walkers run. Each shoe squeaks (with the exception of the Wee Snaps) when the child walks correctly heel to toe. When quiet time arrives, the squeaker, located in the heel, can be pulled out by an adult.

How ingenious is that?? Not to mention stylish of course. And for boys I just love the Wee Squeak Camo Tennis Shoes. They boast the same walking helper design as the girls sandal and an unmistakable cool factor. No doubt that all the girls will be asking to share his crayons from now on! :)

Something that I myself am always on the lookout for are new fun baby shower gifts. Sometimes it feels like it's all been done. I have had sisters, girlfriends and co-workers alike for whom I had to become a brilliant baby shower gift giver. If only I had seen this earlier! The Cashmere Bunny Friendly Frogs 3 Tier Diaper Cake is a plum ripe with all sorts of goodies from disposable diapers and hooded towels to baby powder and a manicure set. Anything and everything a new mother would EVER need, all wrapped up in a cute little frog cake package! Beyond edible, don't ya think?

And last but most assuredly not least, is what I secretly wish for for myself, in a big girl version of course! Baby Bella Maya Zoe Zebra Pink Ruffle Infant Car Seat Cover. Now your little girl will be traveling in style! This oh-so-chic car seat cover is the epitome of cool.. who knew being safe could be so much fun?

Baby Bella Maya infant car seat covers offer parents a safety benefit not available on other car seat covers: snaps. The covers adds style to infant carriers, but in the safest possible way.

If you haven't seen anything here to convince you to hop on over to one of the chicest baby boutiques on the net yet, then I suggest you go to http://www.breasbabyboutique.com/ and see for yourself. I assure you that there is something to tickle your fancy at Brea's *very unique* Baby Boutique.
